Vietnamese Hotline Translation Project
December 1999

This page will be updated when more information becomes available

The purpose of the project is to provide free Vietnamese translation service for those Vietnamese parents who are new-comers or who need help when communicating with teachers at schools regarding their children's studying status/process etc. The scope of the service will be focused only for elementary, middle schools and high schools in the Houston area.

How to receive the service?

Parents who need this service will need to call one of the following two phone number at least 3 days prior to the appointment that they made with the teacher: (713) 406-3030 or (281) 847-3396.

Currently VCSA has a group of 30 volunteers to provide this service at their free time. Depending on how much the demand will be, we might need more volunteers. If you are living in Houston and you are willing to help out when you can, please do not hesitate to contact Khanh Thu Phan at (713) 406-3030 to sign up in the volunteer sheet. Your help is greatly appreciated.

If you know someone who needs this service but is not aware of this program, please let them know and tell them to contact us, we will be more than happy to assist them.

This is a pilot project to be run in the first three months and after that depending on the evaluation, we will decide whether we should expand the scope or not.
