VCSA Educational Workshop

VCSA will host an Educational Workshop for students and parents in the Vietnamese communities in Houston and Vicinity with the following details:

 

The VCSA Student Panel Workshop is designed to advise high school students on how to succeed well in school and successfully apply for college.  The panel will be composed of past Vietnamese Valedictorians and Salutatorians who were recipients of the past Youth Excellence Recognition Luncheon program. It is open to all high school students as well as parents.

The panel will discuss 7 topics:
1.  How to Succeed in High School
2.  Extracurricular and Volunteering
3.  Standardized Testing (SAT, ACT, PSAT, etc).
4.  How to Apply to College
5.  College Interview Process
6.  Financial Aid
7.  What Subject/Major/College is Right for You

The panelists will each give about a 6-7 minute presentation about their topics  For the last hour of the workshop there will be a Q&A session so that the panel can answer any specific questions that students and parents have.

The VCSA Parents Panel workshop is designed to advise the parents on how to assist their children to be successful in high schools and prepare for colleges. The guest speakers for the Parents Panel session is Mr. Hung M. Le, President of VCSA and Mr. Bao Ngoc Nguyen, Advisor of VCSA.

 

Both workshops will be held at the same time at the same location.

 

Complimentary refreshment will be served and FREE ADMISSION.
