We would like to announce the result of the fund raising campaign in the last two months for the flood victims in southern Vietnam as followed:
$15,094.47 raised by the VCSA in Houston (with the great support from the Vietnamese friends at Texas Instruments initiated by Ms. Le Duy Loan and Mr. Nghia Nguyen); Enron Corp (Ms. Thu Pham Arnold) and the Asian Chamber of Commerce (Ms. Dolly Haim).
$4001.33 raised by the VCSA, Dallas Chapter.
The net proceed of the "DQS va Dong Song Dinh Menh" in Houston is $5,082.39.
Hence in total we raised $24,178.19 for the flood victims in Southern Vietnam. We have disbursed this amount through the Relief fund programs conducted by the religious organizations as followed:
The check of $9,241.37 was presented to Rev. Trinh The Huy, Giao Xu Duc Me Lo Duc to route to their local relief programs in Vietnam, on December 23, 2000.
The check of $9,241.36 was presented to TT. Thich Nguyen Dat, Vietnam Buddhist Center, to route to their Vietnam Flood Disaster Rescue Fund, on December 23, 2000.
The check of $1,694.13 was presented to Rev Nguyen Cong Minh, Representative of Giao Hoi Tin Lanh Baptist Lien Hiep on December 23, 2000.
The Dallas chapter already routed the total amount of $4001.33 to Rev Nguyen Cong Ly, Giao Xu Cac Thanh Tu Dao Vietnam (Arlington, TX) and to TT Thich Phap Nhan, tu vien Lien Hoa (Irving, TX) to distribute to the flood relief programs in Vietnam through the local religious organizations.
We would like to thank you for all the support and great responses from all of our members and friends who helped to make this campaign a successful one. Special thanks to Ms. Le Duy Loan and Mr. Nghia Nguyen who have been instrumental in getting the matching donation from Texas Instruments which helped us to raise more than $11,000.00 for this fund-raising campaign.
For your information, we had already announced the result on Little Saigon Radio and also published the result on Ngay Nay newspaper.
